Monday I had to go to the office (Nathan wont let me call it going to work, since I dont get payed, and its for school... whatever) So I basically followed the Dr. around... all good for me! He has a lot of pregnant patients right now, so that is more interesting than regular exams, for me anyway. He has a new ultrasound machine, which is sooo cool... it can do the 3-D images and stuff... amazing! and just the regular sonogram pics are really good... definately interesting.
I saw a delivery on Wednesday... that was crazy!! It was the mother's 5th baby, but she was having really bad back labor pains, which she never had before, its just the way the baby was turned, extremely painful!!! But once she was dilated, the baby was out... it went soooo fast!! I couldnt believe it!! hahah The Dr. keeps teasing me, since she was in sooo much pain and it was the 1st one I saw... I'm never going to have kids haha (definately not any time soon, thats for sure!!! haha)
Thursday the Dr. was called to assist with an emergency C-section on a set of twins... that was pretty interesting too... (also my 1st section) I got to go in the OR and everthing... I just stayed out of the way! After that, the Dr. took me with him to a medical society meeting... pretty boring (he says so too haha) but I got a free dinner!! lol
On Fridays, the Dr. does surgerys (no office hours) so I was in the OR all day... I saw a hysterectomy, 2 C-sections, and a cyst removal... not bad...
So, overall, my 1st week wasnt too bad... except for the exhaustion... lol I'm not used to getting up and working anymore! but I'll get used to that again soon... and I'm actually going to have to make time for studying this rotation... I'm in the office at 9 until at least 6:30, 7:00 ish, sometimes later (so not home until almost 8) with almost no breaks... then I just want to eat, shower, and sleep!! oh well... I am learning a lot, and its not as bad as I was dreading, soo.... we'll see...
Unless they go into labor tonight, we are planning on inducing 2 women on Monday morning, so that will be a busy start to the week.... it's a pain to induce because then he still has office hours, plus checking on the labor and eventual delivery... it's gonna be crazy!!

yeah, havent blogged in a looong time... anyway... heres the update! :O)
Sara & I did go to Sabres practice that wednesday... good times! I love it... and we saw the notice that at the pre-season game on Saturday they would be filming for the Jim Carrey movie, so we decided we needed to go! haha they have great packages for preseason this year... 4 tix plus food (hot dog, popcorn & pop) for $60... we were 2nd row :O) rock on!
I had to make the trip to Erie once again for testing days, so I was there thursday-friday... boring, especially since I didnt need to be there for most of it... oh well... came home & hung out with sara. didnt do anything, but fun as always haha
Saturday we went to the game... Nate couldnt convince anyone to go with us, since apparently I scare people I have never even met... wonderful, no wonder I dont have a bf... haha Anyway - the game was great... 6-3 final score, sabres over senators :O) I felt bad tho, since one of the Sabres (mcmorrow- i cant spell haha) actually broke the other kids leg in a fight!! that was bad... I mean, I'm all for kicking ass, but thats a little much... not that I think he did it on purpose or anything, it just happened... but I'm not happy about it... whatever...
So they filmed stuff for the movie during the anthems and intermissions... kinda interesting to be there and all... now I'll have to see the movie haha ...
we went to mr. goodbar after the game to meet up with Nate's friend... yeah, I met Jay Gordon!! haha good times, Nate kicked ass at pool...
