orgy - cleveland - 6-10-05
picked up adr2 and immediately headed out to see the damage at the psych center. she was actually waiting on the porch for me haha. left for cleveland after that and went right to the rock and roll hall of fame. turns out they were doing a Tommy/The Who exhibit, which adr2 was thrilled about. did the museum thing, drooled at bowie coats, bitched that michael stipe, eddie vedder, and other less important artist's birthday's were mentioned on the rock time line but trent's wasn't haha. i made her watch the entire induction ceremony highlight video so i could see the hottest bono moment ever again hehe. it was great even the 2nd time. i looked to see if they had that on dvd to buy in the gift shop but they didn't. that's a shame. cuz he is really so friggen hot in that 30 seconds they showed. we watched this other long video they have that features each year and who was inducted during each year. we saw from 97 til now, left, and came back to see the bowie induction year (which turns out we just missed when we had gone in the first time).
finished up in the museum and then left to drive around the city, find me some food, and try to find the venue. which involved us being lost of course, we didn't have good directions to begin with, but we did eventually find it i'm not quite sure how. got in while the first band was already on. named r.u.o.k i can't help but think of michael jackson's "smooth criminal" hahaha. they...weren't good. 2nd band was disown (disowned?) and they were decent. the singer dressed like smooth criminal MJ....they did a...strange, sorta ok but something was wrong, cover of depeche mode's "policy of truth". 3rd band was project.44 and they sucked. then orgy.
i forget how much i love them til i see them again. gah. love them. we just stayed on the balcony for the whole show. next time, now that she's seen them, we'll be up front. she thinks they're totally hot. ryan still has bad hair though. paige has a mohawk again, and since his head isn't shaved this time, it was way hot. and he dance around alot more this time. it was hot. jay was jay. amir has cute hair. and bobby was still the hot one. i think the setlist was the same as last year, there were no surprises. i thought maybe since they're releasing "pure" to radio, they'd play it live but no...that's ok. they did "vague" and it was really off. after jay goes "well that fucking sucked" lol. they were a pretty amusing bunch. it was way hot in there, and they kept having to take breaks. ryan layed on the staircase cuz he needed a break. jay took his shirt off back at the drum kit for some reason, and then put it back on which was hot, jay stomach haha. *teenieboppermomenthahaha*.
so it turns out this is the only show they're playing, until guess when... THE FALL. ok stop it now. NO MORE BANDS CAN TOUR IN THE FALL! what am i gonna doooo?!?! lol so it was kinda strange this just random one off show. but cool we got to go to it.
very fun. they're such a fun band. love them.
and i got to wear my black and flourescent pink feather boas. and my edited adam ant shirt. but the black dye on the feathers all came off on my shirt so...it better come out or it's back to black market for me to buy another adam ant shirt haha.
good times good times. but really, every band i like is touring in the fall. i guess it's good that there is no possible way any other band i like can tour, none of the others are doing anything. now if orgy could just open for the nin tour, life would be good.

that's all i can remember at this moment...
and i bought a dvd burner. which is my last big purchase, i need money for the fall
i don't even know what to say to this. i cant begin to comprehend it.
the buffalo psychiatric center, aka the HH Richardson complex, burned down last night. my favourite building in buffalo burned down. the one building i never got the chance to go in burned down. i don't know how bad, but the video on http://www.wkbw.com is horrifying. i can't stop shaking. i think i'm gonna be sick.
*edit sat morning 4am*
as the security lady at the psych center put it: "the news grossly misrepresented what really happened"
it is with much pleasure that i say that the richardson complex did not burn down. there was a fire, and it was pretty big from the looks of it, but the only thing that burned was the building commonly referred to as the Nurses Quarters (but was actually the residence for the male attendants). adr2 and i went to check out what happened before heading to cleveland and yeah, what a relief. the building is pretty much destroyed, it'll be demolished now. but god what a complete relief.
oddly the same section of the building burned that had burned before...
i took some pictures, will tackle them tomorrow. the security lady told us not to go too close cuz firemen were yelling at people earlier, but then the firemen actually invited us to go closer haha.
phew.
watched "saw" with james tonight. while it wasn't quite the mind fuck i was expecting it to be, "who did it" was definitely surprising. but i'm not quite sure i liked the movie. even in discussing it with james after, i can't quite pin down why i'm not totally thrilled by it. it just didn't quite have the shock moment of "fight club" or "sixth sense" when all was revealed at the end. after "fight club" i seriously turned to ian and said "what the fuck was that?" and "saw" didn't have that. i think all i said at the end was "wow". the end. it had a really great random line in it though, something like "you can cover yourself in peanut butter and go to a 50 hooker gang bang". ha!
speaking of "fight club" i remembered i had barnes and noble store credit so i went and bought "haunted" today. i'll start it after i finish "Hitchhiker's Guide", before i go back to "atlas shrugged". almost done with hitchhiker. and i'm not sure i'm that thrilled with it either. hasn't lived up to the hype in my book. but it is entertaining nonetheless.
and wow i had no idea that extreme christians were protesting at michael jackson's trial...."A man calling himself Bobby Bible stands outside the courthouse where the jury in the Jackson case is deliberating in Santa Maria" LOL wow. that reminds me, i got a chick track at thursday in the square last week. woo hoo! too bad it wasn't my favourite one tho, the rock star one. man i wish i would have been paying more attention to the freak show that is this trial...i'm looking for pictures of sandy, haven't found any yet. but wow..."A Michael Jackson fan releases white pigeons outside the Santa Barbara County Courthouse " LOL and wow the freak mj fans and the freak christians are gonna brawl haha. and mr bobby bible looks like hulk hogan. and i'm not sure that even in my hay day i'd put mj up with ghandi, mlk jr, and nelson mandela...
i got a hook up to get me into Model City. woo!
going to cleveland with adr2 friday to see orgy. she's an orgy virgin.
i bought a bright pink and a black feather boa at target today haha. i think one of them is gonna have to get worn to orgy. i also tried on a bathing suit at target that was a LITTLE GIRLS EXTRA LARGE. and yes it did fit. i am sickly.
and i still havent read chucky p's new book Haunted, and i didn't sign up for the street team but they sent me stuff anyway. 3 magnets with sayings on them, postcards, and THE best street team item ever, A NIGHT LITE!
postsecret is one of the best websites on the net right now.
dayquil doesn't work either.
the western door is an incredible restaurant.
i got to see eric, tiff and amanda on thursday. and ran into a very drunk mcnate who was wonderfully flamboyant. my one appearance at thursday in the square for the year.
oh yeah. toronto was good. hot. great to see heather again. spent 200$ on clothes including buckle pants, rattle and hum tshirt, adam ant tshirt that i have to edit, chinese corset shirt, and a magenta corduroy jacket. didnt end up seeing the show, heather couldn't get a ticket. all good.
